Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the coolant recovery tank or coolant bottle on this 2002 Suzuki XL-7. It's pretty much the same procedure for all this generation XL-7. The only tools that you're going to need or items are a new coolant overflow bottle from 1AAuto.com, a flat blade screwdriver and a funnel to put some fluid back in.
The bottle is right here. Use the screwdriver to help you break the seal and pull off the hoses, or that first hose and then the cap can come up and off. With the bottle, just simply shake it back and forth and pull it up and out.
The old bottle is on the left; it has a hose that just empties into nowhere. The new bottle only has a single inlet and it does not have that tube. It just empties the coolant out onto the road. You need to make sure that you don't overfill your fluid. Simply put the new bottle back in place, reconnect that hose, run your vehicle and fill your fluid to the proper level.
