Thermostat housing fit exactly as the OEM part that cracked. I never could understand putting a plastic part on a metal engine block.

I purchased this thermostat housing with thermostat to replaced the stock failed unit on my 14 Wrangler. After a lot of searching, I found this all aluminum unit with new thermostat. It is very well built and has the metal bleeder screw. Some pics show a plastic screw. Installation was smooth and has corrected my issue (previous thermostat failed open luckily).

The last two thermostats with black plastic housing would work for the first 2-3 days then get stuck open and over heat at highway speeds especially when the weather was hot. I am extremely happy with the metal 1A thermostat. It works!

Well, so far so good, it's only the 4th time I have put one on my Jeep, all the other ones were plastic, so hopefully this is the last one, I only did this cause it threw a code P0128, you know it only make more sense cause the block and the heads are aluminum so why not put a aluminum thermostat housing on, why Jeep installed A plastic one from the factory is beyond me! So go aluminum, !
