Great Upgrade
Excellent upgrade. This fitted my truck perfectly. I install it fast easy and it works great. This is a perfect upgrade for your vehicle. It is still much better than the original OEM - plastic enclosure.
Thank you for making my project easy. It brings all the necessary parts to make the installation easy, fast and accurate.

2001 ford ranger 4.0 aluminum thermo housing
The aluminum housing fit great and appears to be an obvious upgrade from the plastic housing which I have replaced twice previously. My only concern is that even after purging the system my ranger runs warmer with this unit. The needle used to stay right in the middle where now it stays 2/3 - 3/4 over to the H on the operating range. If it doesnt compromise the seal\gasket on the upper housing I would like to swap the thermostat from the plastic this is replacing.

Also, I would HIGHLY recommend replacing the three mounting bolts anytime the thermostat housing is replaced, and plan on removing the intake plenum - it is what it is, so much easier and in my experience adds about an hour to the job.
