Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace a side power-mirror motor on this 2005 Ford F150. We show you on the passenger side, but the driver's side is the same procedure. The items you need for this is a new power-mirror motor from 1AAuto.com, T10 Torx Driver, and a flat blade screwdriver.
You can move your mirror glass and then go in behind. There's two tabs on either side, here, and I'll show you that afterwards. You basically reach your fingers in, pull back on one. Reach your fingers into the other side, pull back on that. Then, one more final time from the bottom should do it. Basically, I just reach my fingers in there, pulled up on these tabs here, and then on these tabs. If you have heated mirrors, here, be careful and then disconnect a couple of wires after you get it removed.
Remove these three T10 Torx screws, pry out on the tabs on either side of the harness, and your motor will pull free.
On the left is the old power mirror motor. On the right, is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical and they'll fit exactly the same. Connect the harness to your new powermirror motor, push it back into place, and then replace those three T10 Torx screws.
Now line up the tabs on your mirror with the motor, and then just push on the center of the glass and it will pop back into place.
