Does this repair kit come with the smaller head piece for the top latch so you dont have to bend the clips?

This will not come with any additional head pieces, just the 12 pieces shown in the listing.

I lost the plastic clip that controls the outside door latch. It can be opened from the inside but not the outside. Is that what this is for?

What holds them in place? Crimping?

Remove the broken plastic and make sure its clean, slid the replacement over the cable until it bottoms out on the cable house and crimp it on. theses will outlast the vehicle.

Worked great

They worked great on my 2004 superduty.There are 2 different ones. The ones with a flat side will go in the top latch.
