Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the switch pack on this 1996 Chevy Tahoe. We show you on the driver side master switch pack. However the power window switch on the passenger side is a similar procedure. The items you'll need for this include a new switch pack from 1AAuto.com and a flat blade screwdriver.
Start off by prying up the back of your switch pack. You just want to pry it up with your screwdriver so you can get your fingers underneath, then just lift it up, and then slide it back.
Now, using your flat blade screwdriver, push the tabs on these harnesses, and pull them free. Now you just want to pry out this tab on the switch pack, and then just pull on the switch pack while you do it. Then it will pop up and out.
On the left is the old switch pack; on the right is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical, and they're going to fit exactly the same.
To install your new switch pack, you want to push the front end in first, then just kind of pull back right here, and push the back end in. Once it's pushed down into place, you just want to reconnect those two harnesses. Now, slide this tab forward, and then push the back end of your switch panel down into place. You're all set.
We hope this video helps you out. Brought to you by www.1AAuto.com, your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the Internet. Please feel free to call us toll-free, 888-844-3393. We're the company that's here for you on the Internet and in person.
