Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the dipstick tube on this 2002 Chevy Suburban, and it's the same part and similar process on these Suburbans from the 2000 to 2006 models. The items you'll need for this include new oil dipstick tube from 1AAuto.com, a 15mm socket and ratchet with an extension, penetrating oil, and a flashlight.
Start off by pulling out the dipstick and setting it aside. Then remove this 15mm bolt, and we'll just fast forward as Don does that. Now, pull the dipstick tube straight up and out. Up front is the old dipstick tube, behind it is the new one from 1A Auto. You can see that they're identical and they'll fit exactly the same.
Pull out the spark plug wire to make it easier to put your new dipstick tube into place, and just set that aside. Then, just spray down this O-ring with some penetrating oil, and then push the tube back down into place. As you can see here, if you also unhook your second from the front spark plug wire, you can see right down through if you put a flashlight from underneath, and you can see where the dipstick tube goes into the engine block.
Once you have it lined up, push it down in, and then apply some pressure and get the 15mm bolt started that goes into the cylinder head. Then, use your socket and ratchet to tighten it up. Now, just push the spark plug wire back into place, and then replace your dipstick, and you're all set.
We hope this video helps you out. Brought to you by www.1AAuto.com, your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the Internet. Please feel free to call us toll-free, 888-844-3393. We're the company that's here for you on the Internet and in person.
