In this is video we are going to show you how to remove and replace the blower motor resistor on this 2004 Chevy Trailblazer. This vehicle does have automatic temperature control. Tools you'll need are a 7 millimeter socket and a 7/32's socket with a ratchet, an extension is optional. First, you want to remove two 7 millimeter bolts, one there and then one over there. Now, this panel pulls down and you can see there are some connectors here. You can just kind of pry them away from the panel. This one, you can actually pry down on this little tab and then pull it off and then this comes out. Right up there is your resistor. See on this connector, there's a button way up high? Press that and pull it out. Now open up your glove compartment. See this little hook just pulls up and you can move your glove box down and you can see your other end of your connection goes into the blower motor right here. You see your connection is right here. That's a little hard to film.
What you want to do is take a screwdriver and kind of press up and push it out. As you look at this you can kind of see. There is the tab so you want to press up on that tab and pull it out. These are 7/32's and we will just fast forward as we remove those two bolts. A little hard to film here but there is just a little clip that I flipped the wires up and out of right up in there. Here is the old one, got some corrosion on it. The new one from 1A Auto, nice new gasket and everything. Everything is going to bolt in the same so I start with the bolt inserted already put it up in there. Start this bolt. Start that bolt. After the lead, there is a clip up in there that it kind of goes into. Begin this lead. Just reach in and our purple lead. And we will run a quick test here. Okay. Put our glove box back up. Now here I'm just going to speed through putting our harnesses, clipping them back into that panel and put the panel back up in there. Start the bolts an then tighten them back up.
We hope this helps you out. Brought to you by www.1AAuto.com. Your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the internet. Please feel free to call us toll free us, 888-844-3393. We're the company that's here for you on the internet and in person.
