Okay, in this video, we're going to show you how replace the taillight connector plate in this 2004 Dodge Ram, same as any '02 to '06. Some symptoms of this is if your taillight doesn't work, and you're tried changing the bulbs. Many times, what happens is these connector plates either get water in them, or the contacts corrode causing your taillight to malfunction. Tools you'll need for this repair, T-25 torx driver, a flat blade screw driver and a Phillips head screw driver.
Okay, first, you're going to remove the taillight, T-25 Torx bit. There's two screws, one here and one down here. See, when I pull one out, the light starts moving. Okay, and then, you pull over here with this hand on the edge. Okay, there's basically two pins here that lock into holes there. Get the flathead screwdriver. There's a locking tab here. Just push it down and out. Then, push on a tab here and remove that harness. Okay, if your bulbs are okay, sometimes, what goes bad is this connector plate. It can get water in it to short out. Four screws.
Okay, and we'll just speed up as I remove those four screws with the Phillips screw driver. Okay, new connector plate from 1A Auto. You can see it's all the same. Okay, just change over our bulbs. You've got to check to make sure the bulbs are good. As you can see the filaments, not a bad idea to get new ones. Okay, connect your taillight.
Okay, and we'll speed it up again here as I just put in those four Phillips screws and tighten them up with the screw driver. Okay, reconnect your harness and your locking tab. Push the light in. You're all set. Okay, and we'll fast-forward through removing those four screws.
