The transmission will need some work the solenoid only helps with the shifting in my instance the solenoid was preventing transmission from shifting through all the gears it illuminated the check engine light saying the shift solenoids were bad

Hard shift fist to second gear

Dropped the transmission pan replaced the filter and gasket and solenoids made it shift smooth as silk .

You must drop the transmission pan and the two solenoids are located close to the back on the valve body inside the transmission very easy to do be sure to Scotch your vehicle before removing the shift linkage

Easy, Drop transmission pan, messy, have a catch pan under. remove filter and shift solenoids are right there. Pops in and out via o rings. 1 electrical connector. easy on and off. replace filter. re attach pan. fill and done

I did rescan and clear the code. I do not know if the code would clear itself once the solenoids are replaced. The transmission did shift normally after the solenoids were replaced.
