Liftgate handle
Finding the problem remove the part it takes a lot of patience to install new part . Also waiting for the part to arrive one week is way too long 3 days or less without extra charges would be nice. But it does work great.

2002 Toyota Sequoia rear lift gate handle repair!
I'm very happy with my new rear lift gate handle! I use my 2002 Toyota Sequoia every day for Handyman work. Every day I need access to the back of my vehicle for tools, supplies and ladders. I'm so glad I was able to install it on my own, & it's repaired with a quality product.

Overall a good part but could be better
It's an overall good handle but there is a poor manufacturing process or poor quality control. The metal throat which holds the cable in place was a few centimeters short than needed. It's about 5 centimeters in diameters (on the OEM part) but the replacement part is a few centimeters shorter in diameter and I had to file it down. This should not be happening with these parts. The customer shouldn't have to be filing down parts purchased at a premium. Please correct your manufacturing process and get all the specs right. Otherwise, the part is generally good and does the job. I still recommend it but you may have to do some extra work to get it to hold the cable.

Works great!
Finally installed the liftgate handle on my 2000 Toyota Sienna Mini Van. It works like a charm. Simple enough to do without needing a tutorial. Thanks a bunch!

Great replacement part
Good, quality metal part. The part itself fit great, no issues. Be forewarned though you may need to slacken the tension on the cable in order for the rear hatch to lock properly with the rest of the car.
If it locks with a single beep from the remote, you're good. If there's a double beep you have a problem (hatch remains unlocked). Easiest way to adjust this is by removing the latch at the bottom of the door and manually tweaking where the cable connects so it isn't so tight.
I've heard stories about people replacing latches and opening up the parts cannon to fix this issue when all it requires is about 5 minutes of time and a needle nose. Several good articles online in the Tundra/Sequoia forums about this issue.
