Pro Tip: Replace Handles in pairs or sets. Fading from the sun or age can make your Vehicle Handles and Bezels appear a hue difference next to new Handles.

Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to remove and reinstall the inside door handle on this '99 Toyota 4Runner, the same as any '96 to '02 4Runner. The only tools you'll need are a Phillips screwdriver and a small flat blade screwdriver.
There's a screw right in here. Remove that screw. Then it slides forward then it comes out. Then you can see the little clip right here. You can either grab on that clip with your finger . it could be pretty difficult. Pull the clip off. Then try and grab on top of the rod. Push the rod down and the handle off.
For reinstallation, pull that rod out. Make sure your clip is around like that. Get the handle up on the top of the rod. At this point, I had a little too much trouble getting a hold of that rod. I just use a small screwdriver. It helps me hold the rod, get the handle on top of it, and then get a hold on the handle and the clip down onto the rod. Use the screwdriver to help you push that clip and lock it in place. Then push the handle in and slide it back, and then finish off by reinstalling your Phillips screw.
