Andy shows you the difference between an old blower motor with a worn bearing, and a brand new blower motor, to see how and old one can make that awful noise.
Do you notice while you're driving that you have this ear-piercing screeching noise coming out of your heater? That's what we're gonna talk about in this video.
We found that when we're driving this car and we turn the heater controls all the way up so it's coming out full blast, everything sounds fine. But when we turn it down to about halfway where you would probably have it during normal driving conditions, it has this horrific squeal. And we also noticed when we turn it down a little bit or increase it a little bit, the pitch of the noise changes so it's definitely coming from the blower motor. At this point, we're gonna take the blower motor out and inspect it.
We pulled the blower motor out and we didn't find any leaves or pine needles or acorns or anything inside so the reason for the noise is actually in the blower motor itself. The motor has worn. There's a bearing in there and as you can see, it's making noise. So the only way to fix this is to replace it. If you take the new one, it's nice and quiet.
All right, let's check this blower motor out. Full blast is quiet. And medium's quiet. So that's good. So if you enjoyed this video or it helped you out, make sure you subscribe to our channel, ring the bell, turn on all notifications so you don't miss any of our videos.
