We're gonna take the wheel off. I've got a 21 millimeter socket, vehicle supported, just a light weight on the tire. I've got a wheel lock key, I'm gonna line it up, loosen up the lug nuts. Now I'm gonna lift the car up and I'll take the rest of the lug nuts off. You can use a jack and jack stand at home. Now that the vehicle's up in the air, I can take the five lug nuts off. Now we can take the tire off. 16 millimeter wrench is the size of the factory sway bar link nuts. I've already pre-soaked them because this thing is a bit of a rust bucket and this is not an easy, fun job. It looks easy, but, well, we'll see how it goes.

So I'm gonna break this free and see, it already spins in place. This is what's, the inside spindle, watch. It spins. So now I have to get a wrench on this and hold that at the same time. Locking pliers don't work. I stripped two sets out, so I have these special pliers from a high-end tool shop, company shall I say. And they have like an alligator grip. They don't let go once they're on. Okay, I'm gonna hold it and grab my 16, see if I can get this nut to break free. Okay I heated it up a little bit to try to make my life a little easier. Now that is a workout. There we go. Now I only have to do the top.

I'm gonna loosen up the top sway bar link nut, 16 millimeter socket. Let's hope I can get this one. It's already spinning. All right. Get these pliers back in there. See if we can get a good grip on these. The top is completely different. All right, here we go. Okay, hopefully I get enough movement so I can put these pliers the correct way because they work better when they're against the pressure. There we go. Okay. Let's hope. We got it. A lot of work.

Here we have our brand new sway bar link for the rear from 1A Auto and it's for our 2010 Murano we have in the shop right now and here is the factory one. Wow is all I can. You watched me take it out. They're the same exact link and there is a left and a right, you can see the way they're designed. The thing I can say is there is zero point zero grabbing on that. It's not a cutout for a wrench. There's nothing there. That was rather difficult. The good news is the one from 1A Auto has a 14 millimeter wrench cutout, so I can get my wrench right in there. It comes with self-locking nuts and then I can probably install this in a quarter of the time it took me just to take that out. It's a sealed unit, no grease fittings, all comes pre-greased, and a watertight seal with a band clamp style. Okay, as you can see the angle that it belongs. I'm gonna put the top on first and then line up the bottom one. I might have to put the nut on the top one so I can let go of it. Now I can line up the bottom stud. I might have to move the actual joint. There we go. Perfect. And now I'll start that bottom nut. The nuts are 15 millimeter and the inside wrench cutout is 14 millimeter or, in this case, I have a 9/16 thin wrench, so I'm gonna use that. I'm gonna use a 15 millimeter ratchet wrench to start the nut until I see that spindle stop moving, the socket stop moving internally, then I'll put my 14 millimeter on there. I tried to look up torque specs and I couldn't find it anywhere so we're going with tight. Not too tight. In this case I would probably bottom the nut out on the actual bar and probably give it a good half turn. We don't want any rattle noise.

I gotta grab a longer 15 and that way I can really make sure that's nice and snug. I've lucked out on these new, these sway bar links from 1A. I haven't had to use the 14 millimeter wrench in the back. It actually let me bottom the nut out and the stud didn't turn at all. I spoke too soon. All right I'm gonna get my 15 millimeter socket on my 3/8 ratchet. Tighten that up. Okay, I want it to bottom out. Perfect. Now we can put the tire back on. Make sure you put the rim flush against the hub. I'm gonna snug this lock lug nut flush so I can let go of the tire. 2010 Murano, the wheel torque is 80 foot pounds, so I'm gonna start in a star pattern, 21 millimeter socket, I'm gonna go right to the bottom one, torque it, and do a star pattern all the way around. I'm gonna do it twice 'cause I like to make sure and we're ready to go.
