Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace an ignition coil on this 2006 Jeep Liberty with the 3.7L V-6 engine. The only items you'll need for this are a new ignition coil from 1AAuto.com and a 10mm socket and ratchet with an extension.
Right here, is ignition coil 1, 3, and 5. On the other side, is ignition coil 6, 4, and 2. We're going to show you how to replace ignition coil 1, but it's a similar procedure. You just pull that hose out of the bracket, disconnect the harness by pushing the tab and then remove that hose clamp. This just pulls right off of the stud. Then, you want to remove this 10mm nut. We'll fast forward as Don does this. Once that's removed the ignition coil pulls right up and out.
On the left, is the old ignition coil. On the right, is a new one from 1A Auto. You can see they're identical. They're going to mount exactly the same. Take your new ignition coil and push it down into place. Now replace that 10mm nut and tighten it up. We'll fast forward as Don does this. Reconnect your harness. Push that hose clamp back into place. Re-clip the hose into place. Then you're all set.
We hope this video helps you out. Brought to you by www.1AAuto.com, your source for quality replacement parts and the best service on the Internet. Please feel free to call us toll-free, 888-844-3393. We're the company that's here for you on the Internet and in person.

bottom line, if you need to get them for bottom dollar now and plan to spend the money to put in OEM later then these will cover your needs.
had 1 of 8 fail after about a year causing misfires. not sure if some of the other issues ive been having with hesitation can be linked but it started around the time i installed these and the 1A auto spark plugs. I am not a mechanic, just tired of paying them.

Junk parts
Garbage, I replaced all 8 coils on my truck. Slowly but surely each 1 has gone bad. Less than 6months after replacing them. Don't waste your time or money.

No good, 1/4 coils faulty as of now
Installed new coils and spark plugs, instantly got a check engine light for P0301 (misfire in 1st cylinder). Replaced the new coil with an old one and light went away. The next day, I get a P0356 (malfunction in 6th cylinder), replaced that NEW coil for an OLD coil and the light went away. Avoid these coils if you can.

Works great in my 2002 dodge ram 1500 4.7 v8. Replaced original coils with 250,000 miles on them and these new 1a auto coils made the trucks ignition system function like new. Thanks 1a auto!

Is this hard to do by a non mechanic?
I would say it depends on the application. I did this on a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I would rate it probably 2 or 3 difficulty on a scale of ten. Really once you get under everything (intake box) its simple, there is one bolt per coil and one plug wire per coil so if you do it one at a time theres no way to mess it up just dont over tighten. I put some of the dielectric grease on inside the boot so the plugs wouldnt stick to it and to protect from breakdown from the voltage over time. If youre doing this on a similar model I would recommend this over taking it to a shop any day. Its not nearly as difficult as it may appear.
