Camaro ignition switch

It worked as described. I actually ordered one with the VATS system since this car has it but was cut off, so to be sure that I needed it or not that's what I did. I ended up not needing it with the VATS but was happy to have it anyway. I would definitely recommend it and I will definitely buy from you all again!!

The perfect Key

Lost keys to a car with the VATS system. Locksmiths wanted 300.00 to come out and rekey or replace it. Ordered everything here plus shipping for 50.00. Had the knowledge and tools. It fit perfectly and the car fired up 2 hours later. Thank you again....

I bought the ignition and put it in ran the wire but when I turn the key the car doesn't start?? It has power but no start.. why is the car not starting...

On the original key, you'll see a little black part. That's a resistor, that's part of the security system for the car. You need to take your new key to a key shop, with the old key. They will test the resistance of the old key, and then make a new key with the proper resistance. Then, you'll be able to start the car (and if it's like my 99 Lumina, the security light will go away). If the resistance is a little off (which can happen), then the car will start, but the security light will stay on.

I have a 1999 Firebird with a 3.8 liter automatic transmission. Sometimes the Ignition cylinder won't read the key chip.. If I buy this replacement will it do away with the chips completely so that I won't have a problem with the car starting with th

This lock cylinder set will not have a chip in the keys.

Is any other cutting template or programming needed?

Both are not needed.

Will getting this start the car because I lost my original?

Yes. But I had to also purchase a resistor kit to bypass the computer because the original key/ignition switch had a resistor in the key. If these could be sold together that would be great. If they were sold together then thats my mistake. But anyway thank you guys.

How do I find out what the resistance is for My 95 ss Impala so I know what ignition to buy?

If you are unsure, your local dealer will be able to tell you if you have the Vehicle Anti-Theft System.
