Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we show you how to replace an interior door handle on this 1998 Honda Civic. It's the same process on all four doors. We show you on the driver's side. The only tool you'll need is a Phillips screwdriver.
Start off by removing this Phillips screw behind the door handle. Push your door handle forward and out. Right here on your door handle rod, you'll see this clip. Just push that clip off, and lift the rod up and out of the door handle. On this harness, there's a tab on the bottom of it, just push it in and pull it out. Then remove the two Phillips screws on that metal bracket.
Now, take the switch and put it into your new door handle, and replace those two Phillips screws. Reconnect the harness, and put the door handle rod into place in that hole, and re-clip it. You want to put these hooks into those squares, and then push the door handle back. Just replace that Phillips screw, and you're all set.
