How To Install Replace Cabin Dust and Pollen Air Filter 2001-07 Volvo V70

Watch this video from 1a Auto to learn how to replace the cabin air filter on your 2001-2007 Volvo V70.

  1. step 1 :Remove the old cabin air filter
    • Remove the panel under the glove box by removing the two T25 Torx screws and pulling the panel off.
    • Set the panel aside, and hang onto the two screws.
    • Remove two more T25 Torx screws at the front of the filter box.
    • Loosen the two back T25 Torx screws.
    • Pull the filter box cover down and remove the cabin air filter.
  2. step 2 :Install the new cabin air filter
    • Replace the old filter with the new one.
    • Replace the first two T25 Torx screws and tighten the back two screws.
    • Re-install the panel under the glove box, and secure it with the two T25 Torx screws.

In this video we're going to show you how to replace the cabin air filter in this 2002 Volvo V70. It's a similar procedure in the 2001 to 2007 Volvo V70s, C70s, XC70, XC90, S60 and S80. The only tool you'll need is a T25 torque driver.

To start off, underneath the glove box there's a panel and it has two T25 bolts in it. You want to remove these two bolts and we'll fast forward as he removes those. Then the panel should come right off. Underneath the panel there's this box; this has your cabin air filter in it. What you want to do is you want to remove the two T25 screws at the front of the box. Now you want to loosen the two T25 bolts at the back of the box. Then you pull down that cover and pull the cabin air filter right out. Now you can see the cabin air filter on the left is the old one and on the right is the new one from 1A Auto.

You want to take your cabin air filter, the side without the bar across it facing up. You want to push the air filter back up into that box. Now you want to push that cover back up and replace those two T25 screws. We'll just fast forward as he tightens those up. Now you want to line the panel back up, push the tabs in on the side and lock it into place. We'll fast forward as he replaces those T25 bolts and you're all set.
