PSA67651
This part looks as good as OEM part. I have yet to replace the old part, but I have good experiences with 1A Auto/TRQ parts, as I have bought parts frequently from them.
Well in general once the engine is running, the pump its self produces the fluid pressure for the rack to operate smoothly. There is a pressure valve in most power steering pumps. Id say if the pump is quiet and seems smooth when running, the valve may be stuck? This pressure switch here controls engine speed on slow or low idle turning and operation. This would not make your steering hard.
