In this video, we'll be showing you how to replace the electrical part of the ignition switch on this '95 Accord, same as a '94 to '97, and probably quite a few other Honda models. The only tools you'll need are Phillips screwdriver and a small regular screwdriver and an eight-millimeter socket and ratchet.
I'm going to start by disconnecting your negative battery terminal. Remove three screws from the bottom that hold the steering column trim together. One is up in there, this is your adjust lever here. One is on the other side, right up there above your... where the key goes, and then one is down in the middle right here. Those all three are Phillips screws. Once you have those screws removed, just pull this apart. This top comes right off and the bottom pulls out and down and off.
To remove your ignition switch, there are two bolts right up here on the top. They're eight millimeter, this one here and this one over here. Once you have that out, there are two harnesses, they both have thumb tabs, see how this green one, it's right here. Press that and then work the harness out and then on this one, the tab is here on the back side.
To replace just the switch, there are three Phillips screws, one, two, and three. There's your original switch, new switch from 1A Auto, you can see all the same. It's going to plug in and mount all the same on this vehicle. This switch is in fine shape, so I'll re-install the original one. Just wanted to show you that ours is exact same as the original, and to reassemble, the switch goes onto that. There is a little tab right here. Make sure that gets down underneath and then push everything together, and then your three screws, and there are these little shoulder-styled screws. They have a section that has threads and then a small section that there are no threads.
When you go to send it back on, there's this little square here that actually goes up into the column, so you have it lined up correctly, then your two bolts, and before you tighten up, make sure your lock is here, your whole assembly is where it's supposed to be. Now, you want to tighten them up and you want to make them tight. They don't have to be super tight, but make it good and snug.
Now, reconnect your harness connections. They're really easy; they only go in one way. Just following this trim is easy enough. Put the top on, put the bottom on, and just twist it a little bit. Snap it together. Now, put the three screws back in. Once you get your three screws back in, then you can reconnect the battery and you should be all good.

Switch was an exact fit and works well. It didn't solve the problem but that isn't the fault of the switch.
Easy to find on website, walked me through choosing the part, paying for the part, and delivery if the part, can't ask for anymore then that.
My idiot previous owner installed two shear bolts on the too of my steering column... so i had to remove switch from the side. Took strength long nose pliers and the grace of god to get the new switch in there but i did. And it runs PERFECT I LOVE IT . LOVE 1aauto

Delivery was prompt, installation a breeze (thanks to the "how to" video).
shipping was fast and part fit just like the old one. Replacement video was a little off. In video it shows a 99 model. Mine was a 97 model and did not have the bolts on top of steering column. Had to break old part to get it out and remove cover on new part to get it to fit back in.

I am not sure of the recall but it was a 95 Honda wagon it ended up not being that switch but the key fob change your battery make sure you keep fob works it might not be the switch. The key fob when it doesnt work properly activates the antitheft system. You can turn the key but the car wont respond.
Potentiallysame problem as I had. My car would start and drive away.. then stall after hitting a bump. I found that if I manipulated the key while driving I could make it cut in and out. New switch fixed it.
If there are no screws holding this piece on, we would ask if there is a separate screw, or rivet. This will be required to remove the switch from your vehicle.
