Albert, often in this type of regulator the cable will break and render the window stationary while the motor still operates as normal. In this case all you need is the regulator without the motor. The motor can be removed from the faulty reg. and installed on the new one. However if your motor is older and is used often it might make sense to replace it for a few more dollars while you are doing the install to avoid additional labor later. A1 Auto has some great instructional videos for this repair.
