These door handles are better than the originals.
I have had these doorhandles on my truck for two years and they are still working perfectly and they look much better than the plastic handles came with.

My driver side door handle broke a 2nd time within a year. And had obviously been replaced at least once before I bought it. I decided to try this metal replacement. The mounting plate is plastic but I haven't had issues with part and I don't think it should be a problem. For installation, I used the mounting plate from the broken handle as a template and welded two bolts to a piece of steel. I then secured it in place with lock nuts inside the door.
These handles are very nice. They are made with metal and the looped piece that broke on my original one was plastic/polymer. I would highly recommend this to replace the the OEM part. I have a 2002 Ford Ranger XLT.

The mounting plates were plastic on the two that I recieved. The handle itself, including the arms that kept breaking on mine, was one solid piece of metal.
