Hi, everyone. Sue here, at 1A Auto, and today, we're going to show you how to change your blow motor in a 2011 Ford F-150. It's located here, on the passenger side, right underneath the glove box. So, if you need this, or any other part for your car, click on the link below and head on over to 1aauto.com.
7mm socket, and there are three trim bolts or screws down here. I'm going to take all three out. I like to do this and leave the glove box latched, so that way I don't have to hold onto everything—balance it. Now I can hold onto this. Undo the latch, and just slide the glove box out at an angle. Now there're two plastic clips, here, that hold this felt liner up. I'm going to take those out with a body clip; see if I can get the other one—a bit stubborn. Always find surprises under people’s glove boxes. I'll just move this out of the way so we can work better.
To remove the blow motor, there're three mounting screws. They're in a triangle form, and they're an 8mm socket. First thing I like to do is disconnect the electrical connector. That's that tab right there. Squeeze it with your thumb; pull down on it. There we go. Now that's out of the way, try to make it a little easier for you. Then an 8mm socket. The back one, here, is the trickiest one, I think. So, after several decisions—long socket, short socket, swivel socket—the gear ratchet works the best. I didn't think it would work—I didn't think it would go up in there, but it fit. So, now that bolt's out, we have one left, right there. I'm just going to go right with the gear ratchet. It's a funny one—doing blow motors. Sometimes you get little surprises when you take this blow motor out. You know—sometimes just acorns or leaves, a family of mice. Okay, you just have to wiggle it and manipulate it down to come out. There we go, and there it is.
Here we have the new blow motor from 1A Auto. It comes with a cage; comes with a lock clip on it, and it's balanced. That's a cool thing to see. Sometimes you get these parts aftermarket and they're not balanced. That's a sign of quality. And here is the factory one. Still has the Ford part numbers on there. That came balanced—they call this the squirrel cage. That's a press on; there's no clip; the same two pronged connector. Now we're going to install the new blow motor. I'm just going to basically try to reverse the procedure. Make sure you turn it, so that the lining bolts line up. There we go. I'm going to install the closest lining screw first. Wonderful. Now I can get the other two started. This is definitely a patience game at this one. Okay, I want to put that last lining screw in on this side. See if I can balance this out. Once you get them all started, just take your time and tighten them up.
Now that the blow motor is fully mounted up there, I'm going to reconnect my connector. Check again for any melted harnesses. Looks good. Line it up and it clicks in place, and you're all set. When you put the felt panel back up, you'll see this guided slot, and there's a stud that sticks out from the back. That's for that—to right in there, like that, and now we have the body clips. Push those up into the mounting spots. Grab our glove box. To install it, I just go at an angle; put those ears in there. That's the door that stops, and I line up the latch; snap that. Now I've got my three mounting screws and I'll put those in on the bottom. This is the 7mm socket. Get the center one, and the right side, then the left. If you have any problems with the felt, that's a metal tab. You can always bend that back for a better visual effect. There we go.

In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the blower motor resistor on this 2005 Ford F150. It's the same part and similar process on these F150s from 2004 to 2010. The items you'll need for this is new blower motor resistor from 1AAuto.com and an 8 millimeter socket and ratchet.
Open up your glove box and just push in on the passenger's side and pull it down. Now, push the tab on the bottom of this harness and then just pull it free. Then remove these two 8 millimeter bolts. We'll fast forward as Mike does that. You can use an air ratchet for this, just to speed up the process. Once you remove the bolts, it pulls right out. Then, you just want to pull off this gasket as well.
On the left is the old blower motor resistor. On the right is the new one from 1AAuto. You can see they're identical and they'll fit exactly the same. Make sure the gasket's in place, and then feed your blower motor resistor back into place. Then, replace those two 8 millimeter bolts by hand. One corner is notched and there's a tab in it, so you can only put it in one way. Tighten up the bolts, careful not to over-tighten them. You don't want to strip out the plastic. Reconnect your harness and then push in the side of your glove box and close it.

What's up, guys? I'm Andy from 1A Auto. In this video I'm going to show you how to replace this blower motor resistor on this 2012 Ford escape. If you need this part or other parts for your vehicle, click the link in the description and head over to 1aauto.com.
So when I turn the key on and I have the HVAC on, and I'm going through the blower motor settings--one, two, three, nothing happens. Once I get to setting number four, it comes on full blast. So at this point, I'm going to replace the blower motor resistor. If you have this same problem, you may need a blower motor resistor.
All right, I'm going to open the glove box. Pull that open. Then, on the sides, I'm just going to use my hands and push. Try to get this glove box to flip down, just like that. Now the blower motor resistor is located right here in the top of this HVAC box. What I'm going to do is the connector's a little tricky to disconnect. I am going to use a pick and try to push it on this lock while I lift up on the connector. I'll show you that right there. That's where the lock is. They don't give you much room to get your finger in there, and that will release the tab on that. So disconnect that.
With that out of your way, I'm going to take a eight millimeter socket and extension and a ratchet, and there's two bolts that go down from the top. It's a little bit tricky to get your hands in here. Take these bolts out or screws. There's a couple of screws. Once that's loose, take that screw out, and I'll take the other one out. Now you need the extension more for this other one. Not so much that first one. You might be able to do it without an extension, but take this out. And once it's loose, you can do it by hand, take that screw out, and I can grab the resistor and just slide it up just like that.
Here's the old resistor. Here's the new blower motor resistor from 1aauto.com. As you can see it's got the same shape. You look at the end and the connector is the same; the other side is the same. Get yours at 1aauto.com and you'll be ready to rock and roll.
Now I'll take the new resistor. Get it in position and slide it down just like that. Kind of hard. Really can't see what you're doing. There are a couple of tabs that line up with the holes on the resistor. Look at the old resistor. This is where the screws go. So with it like that, there's a screw there and a screw there. And then there's two little pins that line the resistor up. So get both screws started just by hand. And I'll take my eight millimeter socket and ratchet, I'll tighten these down. It is in plastic, so you just want to snug it, not too tight. Okay with those tight, then I can reconnect the connector. Line that up and lock it in place. Again, take the glove box, push this in a little bit, and close that.
Right now we're going to test it. Turn the key on, and I can hear the blower motor working on setting one, number two, on three and also four. So we fixed the problem.

Overall, the blower motor works fine when I installed it. However, it has a noticeably louder hum at each fan speed than my truck’s original one. If you don’t want the added noise, I would recommend getting this part from another supplier.
The blower motor itself is a bit loud. Honestly doesn't sounds right. Vibrates at high speeds. But it works better than before so I haven't bothered with changing it again

This is the fourth one I've had to purchase. They go out after a bout a year, maybe less. OEM is better but can't find it. This is easy to install and it's a quick fix. It works, but it doesn't last, like most things these days?..not 1A's fault. Everything on their end is good, this part is just inferior. I was hoping to get at least three years out of it.
