What are Tapered Bearings and Why Use Them? Tapered bearings use rollers shaped like flat-topped cones and two races angled from the outside in of the bearing. This angle makes the bearing better at handling forces exerted on the bearing during cornering (known as axial load) in trucks and large cars. Your model came from the factory with tapered bearings. Roller ball bearings work well for smaller cars, but replacing a tapered bearing with a roller ball bearing increases wear and failure.
TRQ drivetrain kits are manufactured using premium raw materials to restore original performance. Each TRQ drivetrain component is designed to be a direct, maintenance-free replacement to the stock unit. To extend the service life of your drivetrain, TRQ recommends replacing wheel hubs, bearings, and constant velocity (CV) drive axles at the same time to ensure even wear of components and improved ride comfort. Install Tip: When replacing steering components, have a professional alignment performed afterwards. This ensures proper tracking and even tire wear.

Passenger side outer tie rod is cracking after two weeks of driving. Passenger side lower ball joint boot has burst after two weeks the other parts are holding up so far.
Parts installed without issue.

I purchased this kit for my 2000 Excursion 4x4.I opened the box and was missing the 2 upper ball joints,I called and 2 days later ,I received 2 new ball joints. The parts seemed heavy,good quality, and felt strong. They all fit into there spaces without and trouble I toke my Excursion to Alignment shop they had no issues, I added Bilstein shocks 20inch rims and 35 inche tires. I have been driving my Excursion now for a month and have had no issues, no sounds, just like a new truck.
I had a bad drag link and worn out sway bar links. The parts here on Maui would have cost $350. For $25 bucks more, I got hubs and ball joints as well. They arrived quickly and I had the truck up and steering before no time. And I am setting aside the time to replace the hubs and ball joints...

It does not look like we have a complete kit for 2WD, but we do sell the correct hub assemblies separately.
No You will need a 1-16 " for driver side and a 1.375" for passenger side. I used Moog ES3426S for driver side and ES3422S for passenger side.

It does not need to be replaced with these components, however, since you are working in that area already it would be a good idea to add it in. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
In this kit the wheel hubs and bearings do come pressed together and ready for use. Please watch the description on our listings as this is not always the case.
