Bought this a couple of years ago it was noisy from the start and the 3 originals still on the truck were not (12yrs old). Now the seal is broken. Not worth buying.
Great part and shipping
The part was sent to me on time and the insulation was straight forward. The first time I opened the door it made a clicking noise, I then tightened everything up again and it still clicks when opening and closing the door. So then I tried to spray some oil and it still clicks when using.
Part works great. Just shipping needs to update tracking number and figure out estimated delivery date better. But other then that I plan to order again
The item (door check 2004 F150 Lariat) arrived & after waiting about one week as time allowed....I installed it. I have done these before as this particular item on this model truck apparently has issues. One only need to go to the F150 Forums. I noticed after pulling out the old one that the door check I had ordered clearly lacked some of the hardware quality of the OEM. Nonetheless I proceeded with the installation. Well, much to my disappointment after installing the new door check, the truck door continued to open far behind what it was supposed to in a wide swing. I suppose I could return this item but I would only exchange it to receive what I believe is either another inferior product. I am troubled having to write this review but I'm a bit peeved that I have to redo it at all. So? No thanks. I'll just get an OEM
To keep the door from opening to far and catch the door to keep open so much at a time and holds it. And if it goes to far could cause body damage on door or finder.
