You must get the new wiring connection absolutely correct, or you will not get the right results.
The new fuel pump for my F-150 comes with wiring that is of entirely different colors than that of the original pump, and it comes with a short pigtail connector that is smaller than what is the OEM on the Ford fuel pump.
So,...you must splice the wires to use the older connector (which I chose to do), or to use the new connector.
The important thing is that you connect the wires correctly. Compare the new pump to the old pump carefully and make a sketch of what colored wires need to be connected to the new colored wires. My old pump came with a yellow power supply to the level sending unit, and a gray and red striped wire to the sending unit ground. A red with black striped wire is the pump power supply and a solid black wire is the pump ground. The new pump wires are black, gray, purple and Black with white stripe. I will have to drop the tank again and look at the wiring configuration on the pump to make sure I have them correct, and I believe I do not. The pump runs, but when I switch to this tank, the engine falters and dies. When I switch to the rear tank which has no problems, the engine will restart. This tells me that if the power to the pump and the pump ground wire are switched, the pump is running backwards and will not deliver fuel to the engine...which is presently does not. There are numerous U-tube videos on this exact problem with the wiring differences. Today I will drop the tank again and check the wiring. Bottom line is this....if this is your first time changing an 'in tank' fuel pump, review more than one of the U-tube videos concerning wiring changes. The 'View before you Do' videos provided by 1A Auto are great in most cases, but do not address the various wiring changes that have to be done correctly. The tank I am working on is the midship or side tank on a 1995 Ford F-150.

Fuel pump
Well I had a lot of trouble finding fuel pumps for my truck I went to numerous sites but this is the only site that had the exact fuel pump that I needed for my truck very impressed and I could not beat the price so ordered it and got it less than a week I will most definitely continue to order parts as needed for my vehicles but so far this is the only site that seems to have most of the things I need that I can't find anywhere else so make a long story short great site keep up the good work and I'll continue to order from you guys
