In this video we're going to show you how to replace the side rear-view mirror the driver side on this 2004 Dodge Stratus. The procedure is pretty much the same for the passenger side. On this vehicle the mirror is fine so we just take it off and put it back on for you to show you how to do it.
Tools you'll need are small flat blade screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, a putty knife or a door panel clip tool and an 8 mm socket and ratchet. Also an 8mm wrench would work as well.
I use a small flat blade screwdriver and down in the pull cup here, pry out the little trap door. There's a little Phillips screw in there. Then in behind your door handle there's another Phillips screw in there. Then there's three Phillips screws, one there, there, there and then one on the back edge here.
Just going to fast forward as I use a Phillips screwdriver and remove six screws in all. This triangle here you can just pull out. All you need is a putty knife. Going to get down in behind the door panel here, slide it down, pull it up and then start to pull the ends. Then the door panel comes up.
Right here is your lock harness. The little button, press on that to disconnect. On your latch rod there's a clip. I'm just going to reach in behind with my finger. Have that clip off then the rod comes up and off. Then lastly down here is your window harness. There's a button right in the middle. You really got to push that button and then work the harness out. And your door panel's off.
Once your door panel's off you want to check these aqua clip pins here because there could be pins stuck inside of them. Use a pair of needle nose pliers, pull the pins out and then reinstall them on the inside of your door panel. With the door panel off just reach in behind here. There's a little tab to disconnect your mirror. Then there's three, two 8mm nuts here and an 8mm bolt over here. We'll fast forward here as we remove that 8 mm bolt and the two nuts. The mirror comes off.
To reinstall you reverse the procedure. Make sure your harness goes through, goes on. We'll speed it up again here as we put that other nut on and then start our bolt in and then tighten those three fasteners. You want them firm, not too tight. Then reconnect your harness.
Put your door panel back on. First reconnect your power window switch and make sure it clicks. Bring it close and reconnect your power door locks. Take this rod and put it into the hole and slip the clip right around the prong. Make sure your lock goes through. There is a large locating tab that goes into a big whole. Once you've got that you can make sure your pins go in. Peak in back and make sure all the pins go in correctly. Now it's just a matter or replacing all the Phillip screws. We'll speed up as we replace all those screws. There was one down in the door cup, behind the door panel, three at the bottom and then one at the back.

Hi, I'm Don from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and the next time you need a part for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the side rear view mirror on this 2004 Chrysler Sebring. It appears the same for any 2001 to 2006, although some of the door panels may be a little different. We're going to do this on the driver side. The passenger side is the same procedure.
You'll need a new mirror from 1AAuto.com, flat blade screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, and an 8mm socket and ratchet. There are two trap doors here. There's one right here behind the door handle and another one here in the pull cup. All you need to do is just stick the flat blade screwdriver into the little slot on the side of the trap door and just pry it out. Now what you want to do is remove each of these Phillips screws. There are six in total. We'll just fast-forward as Don removes those.
Take your flat head screwdriver and pry off that triangle panel. To release the clips on the back of the door panel, you just want to pull out all the way around the door panel. Once you've done that, you can lift it up and off of your door lock knob. Then behind the back of the door panel, you'll see here is your door handle rod. You just want to pop that clip up and pull that up and out. You want to disconnect the two harnesses here by just pushing in and pulling them out. Now your door panel is free.
Now to remove your mirror, you first want to just push in the tab on this harness and pull it out. Then you want to remove these two 8mm nuts and the one 8mm bolt. We'll fast-forward as Don removes these. Now you can just pull that mirror out and off. You may have to lift your rain guard to free it. It pulls right out.
The old side mirror is in the front, the new one from 1A Auto is in the back. You can see they're identical: same shape, same color, same mounting points, and the same harness.
Now to install your new mirror, run the harness through the door. Line up those studs and push them into place. Then you just want to start off these 8mm nuts by hand. You want to replace the bolt and just tighten everything up with your socket and ratchet. Reconnect your side mirror.
To reinstall the door panel, you just want to take that door handle rod, put it back into place, and reclip it. Then you want to just reconnect your two harnesses. Once you've done that, you want to just line up your door. Put it up and over the door lock knob and down into place. Then you just want to push those clips in around the edges of the door panel. We'll just fast-forward here as Don replaces those six Phillip screws. Now just replace your trap doors and that triangular panel.
