Hi, I'm Mike from 1A Auto. I hope this how-to video helps you out, and next time you need parts for your vehicle, think of 1AAuto.com. Thanks.
In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the master window switch on this 2001 Chevy Malibu. If you're having any difficulty with your windows not going up and down, if they make no noise at all, that is sometimes an indication that it's the switch that's bad. The only tool you'll need is a flat blade screwdriver, and actually you'll see some of our clips fall off so we actually use a telescoping magnet to get to them down in the door.
Carefully push under here and pry it up, then out. There are harnesses with tabs right under here that you push on. Push down. Get this one from the front. Disconnect there, and then there's little tabs here that you release. Carefully, so you don't break your bezel. That pulls out.
My switch is working fine, I'm just doing this to show you, but the new switch from 1A Auto is going to go in just the same. Just snap it back into place. Reconnect it. When I took it apart, the little clip fell off of here. You could take the whole door panel apart, I'm just going to use a magnet, reach down in. Looks like I got two of them, interesting. It looks like maybe that there's actually one here as well. We'll push these clips up into place.
