Hi. My name is Mike Green. I want to help you save time and money repairing your vehicle. I have 20+ years experience restoring and repairing cars and trucks. My company, 1A Auto, sells high-quality replacement parts over the internet. In this video I'll be showing you how to install these parts. By the end of this video, you'll know how to install them and where to get them. That's going to save you time and money. Thank you and enjoy the video.
In this video we'll be replacing a side view mirror on this 2004 GMC Sierra, basically the same as '99 to '06 Silverado, Sierra, and the SUV's, Tahoe, Yukons, Escalades.
Replacing the mirror is actually pretty easy. It's only three bolts holding it on and then unplugging the connector, but you do have to remove the door handle, I'm sorry, the door panel. We're going to show you that pretty quick in this video, too. The tools you'll need are a flat blade screwdriver, a pair of needle nose pliers, a 7mm socket and driver, a number two Torx driver and a 10mm socket and driver.
We're going to double-time the door panel removal. To start out, you pry the ferrule around the door lock and the door lock button comes off. Then the mirror panel, which you would think that this is the only thing you've got to replace or take off, but that's not the case. It just has two clips that you use a screwdriver wrapped in a cloth and then the screwdriver to get the door handle trim plate off. Then there's a small plastic push pin. Use a screwdriver to start it and then some needle nose pliers. Then there's a little trim piece that you can just pull off with your finger. A number two Torx screw, take that screw out. You'll see me move quick here, like lightning. Then there's two more bolts, 7mm. One right there, next to the lock. Pull that out, lightning hands again, and then one up underneath the door pull, again 7mm, and again, lightning quickness. Once those bolts are out, the door panel just pulls up and out.
Then you'll need to unplug the courtesy light. Right here, actually, is where your mirror connects in. That one and that one is actually the mirror connection. We will need to go all the way with this, though, because you'll have to pull off your plastic water shield. Here's another connector, it's got a little tab and then this little lever pivots in order for that connector to come off. A little bit different. You can see me struggle with it there. Then the last connector, and then your speaker, provided you have the up level stereo or whatever. Take the speaker off and then you'll want to, after that, remove your door handle, which is pretty simple too. There's a little blue clip on there that holds that rod in place. Use a screwdriver to start it and then your finger to just reach in there, pull the rod out, 10mm bolt, unscrew that, slide the handle forward and it comes off.
Now you'll want to pull your water shield out. This is basically just to get the harness for the mirror off. I'm going to take it all the way off here, but you can just pull it down enough to get the harness free for your mirror. I'll show you, as far as replacing the mirror; it is three bolts, and unplugging the mirror. There's your mirror mounting. There are the three bolts. They are, I believe, 7mm, possibly 8mm. You would remove those three nuts and then you've got to remove the clips on this harness, which goes down into your door. That's why you have to take the door panel off, because that harness goes all the way down into your door. Once you've done that, you can replace the mirror, put the door panel back together and you're good to go. I hope this helps you out.

Hi. I'm Mike from 1A Auto. We've been selling auto parts for over 30 years.
What's up, guys? I'm Andy from 1A Auto. If you recently replaced your mirror glass and you're getting a distorted or a funhouse look in the glass, I'm going to show you what causes that and how to property install the mirror glass.
So on the back of the mirror glass there's all these clips, right here. And those are going to clip all around this ring here, and then there's also these little spacers right here that go in between here. So if you're installing this mirror glass, all those clips have to be pressed all the way on to this retainer, and if you're installing it you're holding the glass like this. When installing it, you push it on from the outside. You're not going to get all those clips installed.
So, when those clips are not completely installed and the mirror is bowed like that. That's what gives you that funhouse look.
All right, with the new mirror you're going to make sure that this gasket is in there if your mirror comes with one. Make sure none of the old gasket is on this mounting bracket here. We want to line this up right with that to make sure that goes on securely and make sure those clips get lined up in there. Make sure the wires are out of the way if your mirror has wires. You're going to take a rag and push in the center of the glass, and you're going to make sure it clips in. And you can push it pretty hard just be careful.
And your mirror should be installed properly and you should not have that funhouse look or that distorted look. You should be good to go.
Thanks for watching. Visit us at 1aauto.com for quality auto parts, fast and free shipping and the best customer service in the industry.

It's a good mirror. They only reason why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the mirror image warps when I direct it outward with the door control. The warping occurs as it approaches the far left of its movement range.
Mirror was perfect fit. The video showing you how to replace it was very helpful. 1A auto was the only company that had the right mirror. Had the right wiring harness and a manual folding mirror
I was sceptical because I had tried 2 other places with disappointing results but this was great from the shipping box right up to the quality of the product. This is a great mirror and the next time I buy anything for my vehicles I will buy from this company if its available.
fir as oem it replaced thanks for the good service
Mirror was an exact fit. I found a installation video from TRQ and completed the job in thirty minutes

This unit was an exact fit to replace the OEM. It continues to perform as it should. Of course, how much performance do you expect from a "set it and leave it" unit? The heated unit works equally as well as did the original.
nice mirror thank you
Excellent Fast shipping Videos tutorial What to ask more?
This is the product I replaced my side mirror with. It worked just as OEM, and I have not had any issues with it at all. I will say, it is still as difficult to use the windshield squeegee on it as it was with the OEM unit. LOL.
Currently, we do not carry this part for your vehicle. We're always updating our inventory so please check back soon!
We advise that you order mirrors with the same exact mirror options as your original mirrors. Special Note: These mirrors will only work for vehicles with these exact options.
