In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the rear hatch support pistols on this 2003 GMC Envoy XL. We'll show you on the passenger side, but the driver side is the same procedure. The items you need include a new rear hatch support pistol from 1AAuto.com, a flat blade screwdriver, and someone or something to safety secure the hatch while you're working on this.
Each end goes on and has a clip. You pry out on the clip. Then pry out on this clip. It comes right off.
The new one from 1A Auto. Make sure the clip's right in place. Repeat for the other side and you should be all set.
