Works great on my 2000 Silverado 1500
Actually what I needed.
The part came quickly and it works as advertised. I used it to replace a similar part I ordered from another supplier. That part lasted 10 days. I think this one will last.
Right part, timely delivery. Part did not fix my problem. I either shorted out the part installing it or there is another source of my problem. Front HVAC system blowing only cold air. Tried flushing my heater core and cleaning out and replacing cabin air filters and still had no luck.
My vents only blew on my face. Fine in the summer but I needed defrost in the winter. Bought this and it fixed my problem. I put a bench next to my driver side door so I could lay down comfortably. Took about an hour to remove 2 screws plug and play. Its frustrating cause its hard to work upside down.
Ok, so I actually messed up the actuator I got from 1A and had to order the AC Delco part with the cam gear already installed. If you're HVAC unit is stuck on defrost mode then this is the part you need, but make sure to note the orientation of the old cam gear that will be attached to the actuator. Mark it with a Sharpie or something. Next, make sure the vent mode is set the floor vent (dial straight up and down in the middle). Then after pressing the cam gear into the new actuator, try fiddle with it until the white gear lever peg sticks into the middle track of the cam gear, not the outer most one. That one is for the defrost vent. It helps to take out most of the vent ducting below the dash (super easy) and also to remove the little rectangular cover that allows access to the vent mode flap. It's honestly hard to explain but there's a lot of YouTube videos out there. Most importantly, DO NOT PLUG IN AND POWER THE ACTUATOR UNTIL YOU VERIFY THAT ITS BOLTED IN AND IN THE CORRECT CON
Fit perfect. Moves smooth and quiet. Full function from defrost to vent.
I ordered the vent mode actuator and I received it in two days.It was the same as the OEM part. I am pleased with the replacement part and will order more parts in the future.
Everything was handled professionally and my parts came quickly just what i ordered.
I got it to work and I'm completely HAPPY with the parts!. But ,but . I'm starting to see other online deals with better prices and is making me wonder. I really like 1A auto, but my pocket (wallet) is in a budget. FYI;
This is the vent mode actuator to control which vents the air flows out of.
There could be multiple reasons why you're having this particular problem. We suggest taking your vehicle to a nearby reputable shop to identify the cause. Once you know the cause, we'll be happy to see if we carry the parts and how-to videos needed for your repair.
Mine was already calibrated my instructions said not to hook power to it until after its installed
I have a 2002 GMC Sierra 1500. mine is in a tight "working space" that is accessible from the driver side floor board. There's a plastic vent, if looking from the floorboard upwards, that needs to come off. If I remember right, it's right above the "hump" in the floor board. Kinda behind the lower center console. It's not the easiest thing to get to, but it can be done. Note: when I put mine on, everything was backwards. The air was blowing out of the defrost when I selected normal. That was because the center wheel needed to be spun 180 degrees to line up. Saying that, just in case it happens to you, and you think it's a bad part.
