In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the four-wheel-drive front axle shift actuator on this '96 Chevy Tahoe. It's the same part and process on these Tahoes from '95 to '99. The only items you'll need for this is a new four wheel drive front axle shift actuator from 1aauto.com and an adjustable wrench.
Your front axle shift actuator is located right here and the harness for it is right here. Pull this off that bracket and pull back on this tab and pull the harness free. Then, pull the wire out of that bracket. Now, using an adjustable wrench, you just want to twist this out. Once you break it free, you can twist it the rest of the way out by hand and then it just pulls free.
On the left is the old front axle shift actuator. On the right is the new one from 1aauto. You can see they're identical and they're going to fit exactly the same. Take your new front axle shift actuator and twist it into place and then tighten it up with your adjustable wrench. Now, you want to put the wire back through that bracket and then reconnect the harness. Then, just slide the harness back onto that bracket and you're all set.

Check the motor on the transfer case . Also check 4 wheel drive fuse
