Easy to install, perfect fit for my 2004 Cadillac Deville with rear air suspension. For some reason one of them was clunking in the middle of the shock for awile but somehow just quit on its own and now everything seems to be working properly.

That means that the shock absorber can work with your vehicles factory installed automatic leveling system OR it will work as a manual air shock with its own air fitting.
The self leveling suspension has the same components as the electronic one, but the shocks in the electronic setup(higher end cars) has sensors too. Most have electrical wires that go to the shock. Tough to find replacement for those. Most people replace the electromic suspension with coil assisted shocks. The self leveling suspension is just as described abouve.
