Here we have a brake piston tool. It's a neat little one to keep in your toolbox, or your tool bag. It's accessible for all sorts of caliper pistons, that actually turn in--instead of push in hydraulically, they screw in. They have spring load behind them. You've got all different types of notches that fit on the caliper piston. What you would do, is you would take a 3/8 extension and click it on, and use your ratchet and squeeze, and turn it right down in. It's a nice little tool. You should have it in your toolbox, or your tool bag.

This brake caliper tool worked very well. It's easy to use with a 3/8" socket wrench and an extension. Gets the job done for compressing caliper pistons.

Bought this for my mini, works great. With the other sides set up differently I can use it with other cars as well.
The tool didn't work on my Subaru without modification, which I completed with a grinder and file. I was able to make it work, but I wouldn't recommend it.
Good tool
Everyone told me it wasn't needed, just a simple C-clamp will suffice and I bought one but it didn't work. This tool was the one, you just have to push and twist clockwise and it will do the job. It's a tedious process but it works.

The way it's set up,I'd say with 99% certainty it should, I used to have a Ford ranger and it would've worked on there. But this one worked well for because GM caliper of my olds ,twisted-in, not a smooth motion. Weirdest thing I ever seen
If your rear brake caliper pistons are the screw-in type then yes this will help with your brake job!
