In my opinion this is a very good purchase and substitute versus the more expensive OEM camera. The instructions for removing the old equipment is a little vague that came with the part. Nothing a good YouTube video would cover. Take caution with removing the old hardware and ford emblem. Possible damage could result. The clarity and resolution is on par with the OEM camera. A great buy.
It definitely fixed the issue. The night time view is grainy and not good at all.
I bought this specific camera because reviews indicated that it installed simply (I found this to be true) and that the zoom feature (not true) and the back-up lines (not true) came up without additional programming from Ford. I give it 2 stars because the picture is more clear than the original camera. However, at night the backup camera picture is very fuzzy and not clear at all. Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with the results.

For the whatever reason, there were squiggly lines all over the screen a day or two after installing this camera. I contemplated removing it and sending it back, but thought that there may be something wrong with my wiring. After sleeping on it a couple days the lines went completely away. I believe my wiring may have been the problem because it is as good if not better than the camera that was replaced. Great product that is much less than what the Ford Dealership was going to charge me.
Easy plug-n-play. Picture quality is excellent and only took about 10 minutes to change it out.

We have a 2012 Ford F150. The camera came with the camera and mounting hardware. The harness that runs from the camera through the tailgate down and under the bed has to be purchased separately. The Ford emblem is a separate purchase as well which you have to be very careful not to damage if you plan on making this item your only purchase. The camera can be installed upside down, be conscious of how you remove apart the old camera.

Yes. I have a 2014 King Ranch. The guidelines and zoom both work with the replacement camera.
I bought this for my 2012 FX4 and it didn't fix the issue but I believe that's bc I have internal waiting issues. It's worth a try if their return policy allows returns.

This will be a direct replacement of the OEM camera and will function the same as the original.
I recently replaced my factory camera with this camera and the zoom feature along with the guiding lines from the factory setup do not work. The camera is also very dim and is not able to be adjusted.
