Hey friends. It's Len, here at 1A Auto. Today, I'm working on a 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser, and I'm going to be replacing the left front mirror. It's going to be a very easy job. Here we go. One of the first things we're going to do, now that the door's open, we're going to get behind this right here. Take something small, like a pocket screwdriver, or whatever you have that you can wedge in there, and then pry this up. See, there we are.
Behind here, there's a little push clip. Always take a look at your wiring, make sure there's no funny colors. That one looks good, I'll tuck it away for now. Take a look behind here, okay. I don't see any bolts, or anything that's holding our panel on. So, let's move along.
Right here there's a little cover, let's see if I can get my pocket screwdriver in there. Looks like there's a Phillips head screw so let's remove that. We've got another one right here, another little panel looking thing. Let's see if I can get it. Cool, what have we got. It looks like a Phillips head. Awesome. Phillips head number two.
It's a little longer than the first, so I'll try and keep that in mind. Here's what we're dealing with. Short one up top, longer one down bottom, okay? Let's move along.
Right here, there's a little push clip. All you do on these is you push in the center, let's see if I can get it. There you are. Once that's pushed in, it's in then unlocked position. You should be able to grab the outer ring of the push pin and slide it right out. Okay, to reset that all you do is push it all the way through like that. Now it's good to go. When you got to reinstall it, you want to have the pin facing out, put it in your hold, push this in so it's flush, and now it's in the locked position.
Oh, all right, watch out for that. Cool. All right, now let's just take a feel around, make sure there's no more bolts. Feels pretty good. Cool, all right. Let's move along.
We'll grab our door panel tool. I'm going to grab one more, a little thicker. I'm going to show you how to get this off.
So, now we're just going to feel along the bottom, feel where our door panel is. I'm going to see if I can get my plastic tool up in between here. It's really in there. Cool. Okay, I'm going to grab one that's a little stronger. I'm just going to come around. A couple of pins. Those will slide right back in, easy peasy. I'll show you in a minute, okay.
So, behind here we have our cables, okay? This one's the door lock, the one on the top. This should be right in here, so I'll put it in to show you. Okay, assuming it's where it should be, which is where it is, all you do is take the white, you pry it away and you lift right up through there. There a little slot, okay? Just goes through like that and like that. Easy peasy.
Next, I'm going to take that green one, do the same thing, remove those. Now, we've removed out left front door panel. Easy peasy.
Let's go ahead and plug this back in for now. I'm going to put the key in the on position. I'm going to put up this window. There we are, turn that back off. We can re-disconnect this now, set this aside.
Now, we'll continue by removing these four bolts to get behind this panel. Number one. Two looks the same. All right, I'm going to hold the panel. There we are, that's what it looks like. It's got our little seal here. Let's set this stuff aside.
Right here, there's a little push connector, all you're going to do is push that, and then we can pull off the wiring. Just try and go right between the tab and the connector, give it a little twist. Take a look at our connection, looks good. I don't see any funny colors in there, no rust or corrosion. We'll move along.
Next, there's a 10 millimeter here, right there, and right here. There's three. One, two, three. We're going to go ahead and remove those. I'm going to start with the hardest to get to first, this one's out in the open, so I'll save that one for last, so I can hold the mirror at the same time.
Bolt number one, bolt number two, same as the first. Okay. I'm going to hold my mirror, get my hand in here. Bolt number three. Grab my mirror, give it a little twist here. There it is.
Here we are, friends. A quick product comparison for you. Over here, we have our old FJ Cruiser mirror, we just removed it, it's fairly simple. Right here, we have our brand new quality 1A Auto part. As you can tell, they're both the exact same shape, okay. The old one has three mounting holes and an electrical connector. The new one? Well, same. Three mounting holes and an electrical connector.
On the other side of the old one, you'll notice that we have the little lamp right here. Let's see, new one? Boo yah. Same exact thing. As you can tell, this is a quality part. I don't see any reason why I wouldn't want to install it into the vehicle, so I'm going to go ahead and do it.

So, I just wanted to show you on your new mirror, you've got these little clips right here, okay. The reason for these is so when you go ahead and you push it into the door right here, these clips are going to hold on, and that will make it so the mirror's staying on there and you can walk around. You can go ahead and put in your three bolts. Okay?
Let's go ahead and give that a try. We're going to try and force it in. I'm going to hold the door, or you can even close the door whatever you need to do. Get it lined up as close as I can here. Get my rubber boot there. Okay. Give it a little push, give it a little bonk. All right.
I'm going to go for the easiest bolt, the lower one here. Once I get it started, I can grab the other two, and I'll get those started as well. Not going to tighten this down, or anything, until I get the other ones started.
Okay, got the lower one in. Let me try for one of these upper bolts here. I'm using a 10 millimeter socket. It doesn't seem like it wants to start, just grab your mirror and wiggle it around a little bit. That's why we didn't tighten up the other one first. Here we are.
This one, if I can get the right angle. Feels pretty great. Okay. All three are started, now we can go ahead and tighten them up. Okay. Feels good.
We'll get our wiring connected in. Push these right in, there it is. Make sure it's clipped in, feels great. Okay, let's give it a try before we go ahead and button this up.
We've got our little plate with our four screws. Get this little area right here that matches up with where the wires were, okay. So, you know, match it up with the wires, don't go this way, it goes like that. This is so you don't crush your wires. Start in all of your bolts before you tighten any of them down. Okay. There we are. Now, we're clear to start putting the door panel back on.
On your door panel, you'll notice you have a whole bunch of these little clips, all right? Maybe when you were taking it off, one of them came shooting off like this one. Take it, and I'm just going to slide it in the hole. There we are. All the rest of them are still on there, so I'd say we're clear to move onto the next step of getting our panel on.
We'll bring it over. I'm going to take this back off of here real quick. Cool. We've got our cables, all right, the white one goes on top, green one on the bottom. That means that the white goes for the lock, and the green goes for the handle. I'm going to start with the bottom, that's what I do. I'm just going to slide it in there, same thing for here. Okay, easy peasy.
Grab our little cable, get it up where we need it. The door panel itself has a little hook like this, it's going to sit down over this. All right, I'm just going to bring it up and bring it down. Set it right down along there, here we go. It's time for the fun part, the little bonk, bonk, bonk, bonk. That's my thing. Cool. Feels like it's nice and secure. We've got a screw hole, a screw hole, a little push button, and then our switch. Let's do it.
Big screw goes in the lower hole. Let's see if I can get my head in there. Okay. Close the puppy up. Very nice. We have our next screw. These are just screwing into plastic, so you don't have to get too carried away with tightening them down. Here we are, close this up. All right.
Should want to stay, but why doesn't it want to stay? Hold up, try that. There we are, cool.
Connect our switch. Just going to go on there like that. That is just going to sit down in there like that. There we are. All right, we've got this down. Let's move along.
We'll get in this one last little push clip here. Here we are. Now, let's test everything. Grab the window, good. Door locks, good. Let's test the latch, door handle, perfect. Great job everybody.

Fits and looks good. Not silver like OEM but the black is fine.
Work great! I used cerakote to make them look finished.
Wonderful product. Perfect fit and easy installation. Minor issue with product advertising wording, it states "glossy black" finish but it's actually more of a satin/matte black finish, which is what the pictures show and what I was wanting anyway.

The entire housing is the item I purchased and changed. It's an easy fix, goes right back to stock. I bought a kit for the door panel removal which is needed to take it off but it goes back very easily. You don't want to try and just replace the glass in my opinion.
followed the same method you would use for a stock mirror and it worked fine. Just be gentle. I've had to replace my mirror lights a couple of times now.

Mirrors should be replaced in an "option for option" fashion. If your mirrors do not have the same options that are listed in our listing, there is a possibility that this mirror may not function properly.
