Thank you for your inquiry! No you do not need to take the whole assembly off to replace just the glass and backing plate.
Thank you for the inquiry. This mirror is just power and heated so it will not come with any wires for the turn signal or blind spot detection. The wires needed will be on the vehicle (inside the mirror housing) and you will need to connect the electrical diodes on the mirror itself with the female wires from the housing to get the heated element to work.
