As normal with parts from 1A Auto, arrived quickly in good condition. Was clearly well made and I had these installed on my wife's car in less than 10 minutes. Works great
Passenger side engine hood lift assist strut lug will not stay locked on the engine hood lug. Every time I lift the hood I have to either reconnect the strut, or fiddle with the clip to make sure it stays in the 'locked' position. The lift strut pops off the hood lug when I lower the hood. And slams down on engine compartment components. I'd send it back but the shipping cost isn't worth it.
Hood struts fit my avalon perfectly. Easy to install using a small flat head screwdriver. One new strut would keep up the hood, very sturdy. Start with bottom clip first, unhook and rotate sideways to unclip top clip, took 3 minutes per strut. Install new strut by starting with top clip first and then bottom clip. Exactly like factory parts and less expensive.
If you look closely the ends are different, one is angled the other is straight. The one that is straight did not go on well and actually came off once. I would look for a pair that the end are both angled. Other than that overall length is good. If I would have kept the old ones I would have swapped ends because they were the same. Our Avalon is 2011.
