The general fitment for the parts was good for my 2008 4Runner. In weather 50 deg f and above these work reasonably well but are slow at the top portion of opening. When the weather gets colder these basically stop opening the rear door after about 60% through the opening cycle.

These arms are excellent. Quick and easy to install. Super strong...as in springy when opening! Watch out, literally. When you press the button to open the back hatch, these lift gate support arms are so strong the door swings up really strong, and fast. Almost in a dangerous way. Don't be standing too close or in the way of the door swing path!! The downside is that they're SO strong, that it's hard to close the door down!

Good fit to replace worn out lift supports
Fit my 2009 4Runner perfectly. These are much stiffer/stronger than the factory lift struts that had worn down. Happy with the purchase.
