In this video, we show you how to replace the interior door handle on this 2004 Chrysler Sebring, and the only tools you're going to need for this is a flat blade screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver, and a T-20 torques bit. There are two trap doors here. There's one right here behind the door handle, and another one here in the pull cup. All you want to do is take a flat blade screwdriver and stick it into the slot on the side of them and just pry them out. Now what you want to do is remove each of these Phillips screws. There are six in total, and we'll just fast-forward as Don removes those.
Take your flat blade screwdriver and pry off that triangle panel. To release the clips on the back of the door panel, you just want to pull out all the way around the door panel. Once you've done that you can lift it up and off of your door lock knob. Then behind the back of the door panel you'll see here's your door handle rod. You just want to pop that clip up, and pull that up and out, and you want to disconnect the two harnesses here by just pushing in the tab and pulling them out. Now your door panel is free.
Now from the back side of your door panel, you'll see there's two T-20 bolts right here. You just want to go ahead and remove those. You want to just, using a flat blade screwdriver just pry out the clips on either side of your switch here. Then just pull that switch out. Now you take your switch and just push it into your new door handle, and put the door handle into place. Then you just want to replace those two T-20 torques bolts.
We'll just fast-forward as Don replaces those. To reinstall the door panel, you just want to take that door handle rod and put it back into place and re-clip it. Then you just want to reconnect your two harnesses. Once you've done that, you just want to line up your door. Put it up and over the door lock knob and down into place. And, then you just want to push those clips in around the edges of the door panel. We'll just fast-forward here as Don replaces those six Phillip screws. Now just replace your trap doors and that triangular panel.

In this video, we're going to show you how to replace an inside door handle on the front door of this 2004 Dodge Stratus, same as any '01 to '06. The door handle on this vehicle is in fine shape, so we just take it off and put it back on just to show you. Tools you'll need are a flat blade screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, door panel clip tool or a putty knife to pry out on the door panel, as well as a T20 Torx driver.
Use a small flat blade screwdriver, and down in the pull cup here pry up a little trapdoor, there's a little Phillips screw in there. Then, in behind your door handle, there's another Phillips screw in there. Then there are three Phillips screws: one there, there, and then one on the back edge here. I'm just going to fast-forward as I use a Phillips screwdriver and remove six screws in all. This triangle here you can just pull out and off. Now all you need is a putty knife. You want to get it down in behind the door panel here, slide it down, and pull it out. Then start to pull the pins and then the door panel comes up. Right here is your lock harness. There's a little button, press on that to disconnect it. Then, on your latch rod, there's a clip. Reach in behind with my finger, pull that clip off, and then the rod comes up and off. Then, lastly, down here is your window harness. There's a button right in the middle. You really got to push that button, work the harness out, and then your door panel is off.
Once your door panel is off, you want to check these aqua pins here, because there could be pins stuck inside them. Use a pair of needle nose pliers, pull the pins out and then reinstall them on the inside of your door panel. With your door panel off, here's the back of your door handle. A lot of times what will happen is this lever here will break or the shaft that holds everything together will break. There's two T20 Torx screws right here. Okay and fast-forward here as we remove those two T20 Torx screws. Okay, now your handle comes right out.
Okay, so here my handle is in fine shape, so I'm just going to show you this. You would want to remove your switch here. Use a screwdriver and kind of pry out and pull the switch and pull it out. Obviously, then, you'd put the switch back in your new handle. The three tabs are on the bottom, so just put it right back in. Start my two screws. Fast-forward here again as we start those two screws and tighten them up with a T20 Torx driver. Okay, pull this clip up like that.
To put your door panel back on, first reconnect your power window switch. Make sure it clicks. Bring it close and reconnect your power door locks. Take this rod, put into the hole, slip the clip right around, and flip it on. Make sure your lock goes through. There is a larger locating tab, it goes into a big hole, once you've got that, make sure your pins go in. Cheat back, make sure all the pins go in correctly. Now it's just a matter of replacing all the Phillips screws. We'll speed up as we replace all those screws and those one down in the door cup, behind the door panel. There's also three at the bottom and then one at the back.

The handle worked great, and the price was well below my alternatives. I only needed the handle, but no big deal. For the price, it was well worth it. I had to drill out the hinge pin hole a bit to fit my '01 Sebring convertible's existing hinge pin, but that didn't take long and the handle fit right into place. Two weeks now and no issues. Definitely recommend.
