Great product, better than original OEM part. Works perfect, easy installation. This is a well-made part. Why pay $300 for the GM part when you can get a better aftermarket part for hundreds less.
The first ones that I bought from A1 Auto worked for 3 days, then the low beams did not work or the cruise control. I just installed the new part that I received and it worked for one day. The low beams quit working this morning. I had to manually hold the lever arm to engage the high beams just to have lights. I hope that I can find out what is wrong so I can fix it and be able to have lights.
Form n fit are supburb. The wire that is taped back I finally figured out was for column shift.
No fault of 1 A auto but part had a manufacturer defect had to send it back
I bought this for my 2003 Impala and going by their video it was a easy install and works like a new one!
Did not work , this part # 1AZCC00143 is a bad multifunction switch , this is second one I have installed , the brown wire was burned at connection on switch, heated up light switch so hot you could not touch, replaced with durolast multifunction switch and this works fine first time

See my post dated May 10, 2018: A few tips based on my 2000 plain Jane Impala WITH cruise Control: 1) Watch the video 2) The video shows the use of a crescent wrench on the one Torx driver for the screw behind the wheel. I turned the wheel and was able to use a Torx bit in a screwdriver... much easier. 3) To get to the two wire connector, it was easier to remove the steel knee shield under the column by removing the 4 bolts. 4) There was a green locking tab I needed to push towards the engine on one of the connectors. 5) I had to remove that one panel that goes all the way across the dash in order to get the top wheel column cover off (PITA). 6) Your vehicle may vary... Have fun!
Not having the car anymore, my thought is it is for cruise control. I believe the switch comes with the cruise control option but if your vehicle doesnt have cruise control then there would be no place to plug these wires into.
Thanks for the question! even 'an undercover' police model is a police model, so you will want to purchase parts based on that. This lever is not meant to add the cruise option to your vehicle. Instead it only replaces the lever on vehicles that had cruise from the factory. Thank you!
