In this video, we're going to show you how to replace a power window switch on this 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo. We show you on the driver's side, but the passenger side is the same procedure. The items you'll need for this is a new power window switch from 1AAuto.com, a flat blade screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver, a T25 Torx driver, and a putty knife.
Your door panel is held on with four screws. There's a Phillips screw here and a Phillips screw up here. Then down here, onto the pole handle, there are two T25 Torx screws. We'll just fast forward as Mike removes those. Pry out, behind this panel, the flat blade screwdriver, and then slide the panel forward and over the door handle. Then pry out on both sides of your door lock switch while pulling up on it. It should pull free.
There's an indent right here that you want to slide your putty knife into, and then just pry out on the clip. Then reach back behind the door panel and feel for the clips, and just pull out sharply to release the clips. Once you've release them all the way around, just lift the door panel up and then pull it back. Push the tab on this harness and pull it free. Do the same thing for this harness. Your door panel is free.
On the back of your door panel, you want to remove the three Phillips screws that hold on this plate. Now, in the front of the door panel, remove this Phillips screw. We'll just fast forward as Mike does this. That inside of your pull handle will pull down and out, and then you just want to push in this clip with a flat blade screwdriver, push up on the panel, and do the same here. Then this one can be a little bit more difficult, so just stick the screwdriver in there, push on it, and then pull the screwdriver out. Then do this tab on the other side of the switch. Just keep pushing it out and your switch panel will pull free.
Now, on the back of your switch panel, just pry out on these two tabs while applying pressure on the other side of the switch. Then just push back on these two tabs while pulling the switch free. Take your new switch and push it into the switch panel. Push the outside of the switch panel in first, then the front from the inside. Then push down the back of the panel last.
Replace the inside of your pull handle and that Phillips screw. Replace this plate and the three Phillips screws that hold it into place. To reconnect your door panel, just start off by reconnecting these two harnesses. Then just put this switch through here, then line up these slots with these four tabs, and just lift the door panel up, and push those slots onto the tabs. Then just make sure the clips are lined up and hit them into place along the sides of the door panel. Now, push your door lock switch back into this panel, slide the panel over your interior door handle, and slide it back into place. Then just replace those four screws, and you're all set.

In this video we'll be showing you how to replace the driver's master-power-window switch. The only tool you'll need is a T27 Torx driver. This is on a 2001 Chevy Impala, same as any 2000 to 2005 Impala. There are two Torx screws here. Just trying to do all this in real time, not trying to bore you too much. Maybe you're replacing this because one of the switches isn't working for you, or the lockout's not working. It's a pretty easy process. Remove these screws; put them over here by handy magnetic tray.
My tools, also. All right. Then this just comes right up and out. Okay. Pull a little bit. Then all of these connectors, you just find where the lock goes up, and you press with your thumb and then pull it. That one and this blue one. You might use a screwdriver or something to help you press on those teeth. Okay. At this point, it's really easy. You just use your fingers or maybe you use a screwdriver to help you. You pull the plastic. Let's get one side. We got one. Oops. You want to be careful not to break here your trim panel. Once you get one side going, you just hold it and then, there it is. Easy enough. Then you put your new one back in. Reverse the procedure. Let's see; oops. Obviously, it's got a little thing so you can't do it wrong, which I tried to do. Okay. Put it back in. Connect your harnesses again. Put the trim panel back in. Screws. Both back in. I won't bore you with all the details. Then, tighten them up pretty good. Tighten just about as much as you can with a screwdriver-type tool and that'll hold it all together. Pretty easy thing.
