In this video we're going to show you how to replace the heater in the A/C blower motor on this 2000 Lincoln town car, same as any '98 to '02. Tools you'll need are an 8-millimeter socket with a ratchet and extension. My vehicle did have a 10-millimeter bolt on it as well but I don't think that that was original. Start out by moving your washer bottle. This is an 8-millimeter bolt here; remove that. I'm using a ratchet extension 8-millimeter socket. As you can see, my inner fender's broken so actually I'm just going to pull this right out. Hopefully yours comes out a little easier. I'm just going to move my water bottle right over here. Now you can see we have pretty easy access to the fan motor. Your lead is right here. Just pull back on a tab here. Disconnect the lead. Pull this tube down. You can see there's a bolt there, a bolt there. There is a bolt down further on most cars. Mine is missing; it looks like this has probably been replaced before and I'll show you how to get to that.
Right up underneath there's an 8-millimeter bolt right here. You want to remove that. I'm just going to go up in there with my 8-millimeter socket and my ratchet. We'll just fast forward through that. Okay, get that bolt out. Now what you want to do is kind of lift up on your inner fender and move it over a little bit. Now you can see your fender's not on that lip so you can push it down. Most likely what I would do is if that bolt was still down there, I'd push down on my fender and then it's possible to reach down in there and get it. Since I don't have it, I'm going to move this 8-millimeter bolt. I'm pretty sure that they should be all 8-millimeter, although my car has a 10-millimeter bolt there, which is probably because this was replaced already and somebody lost the correct bolts.
For this bolt I switch to a 10-millimeter socket and a extension and ratchet and we'll speed it up. Now what you're going to do is push the fender down and pull your fan up and out. New assembly from 1A Auto is just like the old one. I'm just going to remove this tube and swap it over. Then go back the same way. I push my fender down and get it in. Put the fender back up. Pull the fender up with your hands and get it back in place. This bolt here... this bolt over here. Let me tighten this bolt. Put my lead back in. This is screwed back on. Move that wiring back. There's a little tab where the washer bottle goes into on the fender. Make sure that goes in. This, I'm just going to kind of stuff down in there because it's broken, which you would obviously want to bolt yours in. Now take our bolt, tighten it in, and tighten it up. We're all set.

The part appeared to be identical to the original part on my 2000 Lincoln. The original part seemed to be working fine. The problem was a faulty resistor, which was also replaced. Because of the age of the vehicle, it was recommended that both be replaced. The A/C and heat are now working fine.
Sturdy part that functions well
Motor and fan quality assembly, connector fit is good, excellent fit in 1999 Town Car Signature Series. Operation is quiet and has good fan balance.

Works great, actually pushes more air flow than stock blower motor.

About 2 years ago I replaced the original motor in my 2001 Town Car with a "knock-off" cheap replacement from another company It didn't blow as much volume as the original had and it was very loud. I finally had enough and purchased this motor as a replacement for the replacement. Ahhh! It's blows a lot of volume and does it quietly. I've always had good results from 1A Auto and this no exception. Thanks guys! My classic Lincoln is cool again!
The motor was easy to install, worked very well and was quieter than the old motor.
It was the correct part and after watching the video, it was installed in about 30 minutes. Probably saved $300.

Yes, instructions suggest to drain the cooling system for easier access to resistor. Which means cooling system will need to be refilled make sure to bleed air from the cooling system or over heating will occur. You are going to need patience to accomplish this task.
Check the blower fan first with a test light to see if power is going to the blower fan
Yes, the blower motor comes "complete." Just need tools. Blower attaches with 5-6 screws to the housing, and two wires (one hot, one ground). Only tricky part is removing the plastic housing cover... just need to be patient while you jiggle it free. Took me 30 minutes.
Since it's not blowing on any setting, I would start with the resistor first.
