Hi, I'm Mike Green. I'm one of the owners of 1A Auto. I want to help you save time and money repairing or maintaining your vehicle. I'm going to use my 20-plus years experience restoring and repairing cars and trucks like this to show you the correct way to install parts from 1AAuto.com. The right parts installed correctly: that's going to save you time and money. Thank you and enjoy the video.
In this video, we're going to show you how to take out and put back in the right hand, or passenger side, radiator fan. It's the one with a plastic shroud, for this 2000 Honda Accord. The tools you'll need are a 10mm socket and ratchet and a flat blade screwdriver.
When you turn on your vehicle's A/C, as I have here, you should see both fans go. If one of them is not working, that means that one is bad. If they are both not working then you need to check the relay or the fuse.
As we're looking at it, if you want to replace the fan on your passenger side, it's pretty simple. Actually take this hose, disconnect it, and pull your radiator overflow bottle up and out, which I'll do in a second. Disconnect your harness, which is right here. Press this tab down. Let me try a different hand here. Press the tab down. Disconnect. Pry off this wire holder and this wire holder and then remove two 10mm bolts.
Here I am pulling that radiator bottle up and out and setting it aside and now using a screwdriver to pry those wire clips out that hold the wire to the shroud, and then finally using my 10mm socket and ratchet to remove those two upper bolts. I'm going to remove the bolts that hold the radiator fold down. Those are 10mm as well. Once we do that, we'll just take our harness, slide it in front of our radiator fan so it's kind of between the fan and the radiator. Lift up on our radiator, lift up on the fan and slide the fan right out.
Obviously, for re-installation, put the fan down in, lift up on the radiator. Be careful. It will try and get caught up in the wires that you have behind it. Slide it down in there. Bring your wires up and back into the backside of it. Then the little posts down in the bottom have to go into the little holes. It's in. Now start our bolts. Take your radiator. It goes down into a single hole as well. Be sure it's started correctly. Start these bolts in. Move our harness back in. This one was unplugged. Plug this one in over here. Put our old flow bottle back in. Connect it. Put it back in.

In this video, we're going to replace the left hand, or the driver's side radiator fan on this 2000 Honda Accord. It's a pretty straight forward repair. All you need is a 10mm socket and ratchet, and a regular screw driver.
When you turn on your vehicle's A/C, as I have here, you should see both fans go. If one of them is not working, that means that one's bad. If they're both not working then you need to check the relay or the fuse.
Removing and replacing the fans is pretty straightforward. There are some harnesses that clip on here so you want to pry those clips off. Then, there's a 10mm bolt. I can't really show it to you, but it's down here in the center of this metal one. Right down there, basically in the center is another 10 mm bolt. You want to disconnect your lead, which is a matter of pushing down on that tab right there and pulling it out. Right down here, there's a little connection on the bracket. What you do is you put your screw driver in there like that, and then pull this up and off the radiator shroud. I'm just going to fast-forward through removing those two top bolts. The lower bolt I remove all the way, but you don't have to. As I'll show you later the fan is designed to slide down on it so you can just loosen it up probably four or five turns. It comes up and out.
As you can see this one is slotted, so what you can do is take your bolt that you removed from the bottom here. You can take that bolt and just thread it back in. As you saw, my original one was working fine. So, we'll put it back down in and careful not to hit any of the fins on the radiator. Then, you can bring it up a little higher, reach down, drag your bottom bracket onto your lower bolt here. It looks like we took it up a little too much. Start here. Use a little fast forward again as I tighten up those three bolts. You want them nice and firm, they don't have to be extremely tight, though. I'll take this clip, it's down low where you can't really see what I'm doing, but I'm clipping this harness back onto the radiator shroud where it belongs. This routes underneath. Get this pinned back in, and then last but not least connect your harness.

Seemed a little short. Meaning, bottom tabs didnt quite reach holes at bottom of radiator. I simply switched fan motor assembly to the old frame and Bobs your uncle!
