Nice & Heavy duty
This was the exact part I needed for my husband's 1999 Toyota Tacoma. The plastic piece that broke in the prior handle was metal in this handle, and I trust that it will last longer. Installation was a breeze and the handle works perfectly!
Way better than the last one I got from another company. This one had a metal handle and not a plastic one. The plastic is what broke on my last 3, 2 driver side and 1 passenger side. I will definitely order another one for the passenger side. That one still works currently, but is a plastic from the other company and its only a matter of time until it breaks.
Because this was one of the higher priced units I thought it would be better quality. The unit is not very heavy duty and once installed found that the door lever is not held tight by the spring, so the lever rattles when driving and is loose. Only found this after installation and as it was a challenge to install I will leave it in until it fails, or can't stand the rattle, and will find a better unit.
OEM quality and fit. A little tricky to get it all apart and back together but went slow and no problems. Recommend ordering door panel clips, no matter how careful the removal is some inevitably break.
You would need to swap the cylinder from the original to the new part.
