In this video, we're going to show you how to replace the trunk lid support struts on this '95 Civic same as any '94 to '97 sedan or coupe. The only tools you'll need are a 10 mm wrench and a pair of needle nose pliers. If your trunk lid has gotten a little heavier, you'll want to replace these trunk struts. It's pretty easy. All your going to need is a 10 mm wrench and a pair of needle nose pliers. Put the pliers down for right now. A 10 mm wrench on this bolt up here. That comes off. Put that down right here. There's a little piece of trim here that just kind of snaps off with your fingers.
Then use your needle nose pliers and then there's a clip, a C clip right here. I'm just kind of grabbing onto it and pull it off. Then just kind of steady your... I'm just holding the trunk lid with my top hand here. Pull it off, and the trunk lid will stay in the up position with one of them off. Easy enough to put them back on. There's nothing wrong with this one so I'm just going to reinstall it. Put it on the bottom. Top you just kind of have to shake your trunk lid a little bit to get it on there. Just put on this nut. Just thread it on with my hand first and then take my C clip and just kind of put it into place and push it with my thumb a little bit. Then I'm just going to take my needle nose pliers and I'm going to close them up and just use the nose to push it down into place. Put my trim back on and tighten my 10mm nut back up. And you're all set.
