These lift supports. Are easy to install, come with instructions and links to videos, work great. 1A Auto is a good place for parts.
Customer Q&A
The trunk on my 2002 Ford Mustang (with Spoiler) used to open itself once unlatched. Now I have to open it but it will remain open once in that position. Will replacing the support lifts with these restore the auto opening of the trunk lid??

Robert, with just a little lift on your part, the trunk lid will fully lift and stay up. Requires a little more pressure to close also. There are assist springs ar the top of each support lift (strut), the rubber stopper decals making them shorter, hence not as strong. Replacement of the springs along with the supports would likely restore the full "auto opening" you desire. Good luck. Go Mustangs!
